iPod Therefore I Am
I’m a little later to this than most but due to some recent frustrations with the whole online streaming process in general (more on that in a later article perhaps), I decided to bring an/some iPods back to life.
I have a collection of 4 iPods, a 40GB 3rd Gen, a White and a Black 5th gen and a Blue iPod Mini. After looking at some of the mods, battery replacements etc online, I decided to start with a 5th gen as the process seems to be the easiest.
To that end I ordered the iFlash Solo, a replacement battery, Micro-SD card and once they arrived, popped them into the iPod, restored the software and presto change-o, I had a working flash-based iPod.
Of course it wasn’t entirely that simple and I’m happy to write up that process if anyone is interested?
I’m also still fighting with getting the iPod 3rd Gen working, thats my favourite iPod but it’s a pain, a major one at that to get going again and is still a work in progress.
Getting Music Onto The iPod(s)
One thing that is also a nuisance is getting music onto the iPods but I’ve found a way to do it with some software called Waltr Pro 2. You start the software, connect your iPod and then just drag and drop your files onto Waltr Pro and it copies them to the iPod for you, with correct meta-data and artwork. They have a newer version of the app now, Waltr Pro but I haven’t tried that as my current app works.
That’s why I have been so quiet lately, as in my spare time I have been fighting with iPods and sometimes playing Path of Exile 2. Anyway’s that’s all for now, live long and prosper.
